The ASICS British 10K London Run attracts runners from all over the world, including current Olympic and World champions, who run shoulder to shoulder with charity fun runners and fitness enthusiasts.

In 2008 history was made when the 2004 Olympic Mens’ marathon champion Stefano Baldini of Italy became the first male to win two successive ASICS British 10K London Run titles. The race also attracts many celebrity runners from the world of TV and film who run to raise awareness and funds for their chosen charities.

People from all walks of life and every level of running ability choose to run the ASICS British 10K London Run, helping to make the day into the great national and international event it has become!

So if you you’d like to, why not come and run for us? Or there’s always 2010 if you need a bit more time to get into training!

Two places are taken by our very own members of staff – Julie Bertram and Luke Williams – a third by our Trustee, Treasurer Jason Mowe, and once again we are grateful to have the efforts of two of our most dedicated runners: Tyronne Quarrie (taking part for his fourth year) and Garth Hendrikse (his third year running. Literally!)

If you’re interested in taking part – and you’re fit and able – please pick up the phone and give us a call.

Or there’s always next year, of course!

Tyronne “I’m absolutely delighted to have completed the race in under an hour. It was tough-going in the rain at times, but well worth it.”

“I am delighted to be taking part in this event for a very worthwhile cause,” said Marilyn. “The radio can be a real lifeline for blind and partially sighted people. It is essential they have access to equipment that can help them.”

Runners 10k “It’s an amazing experience and achievement taking part in such a great event,” says Garth. “My Uncle lost his sight a few years ago and seeing how much his radio means to him, makes helping a charity like BWBF a worthy Fund to support.”

But you’d better hurry – there are only a couple of places left.

Come and join us in the 2009 ASICS British 10k London Run – 9.35am Sunday July 12th 2009.

After the spectacular success of the 2008 race – with over 26,000 people (including two of ours) running past many of central London's world famous historic landmarks – we put out the call for volunteer runners for 2009.

This year we have 12 places – and eight of them are already taken.
