When Mick Perry decided it was time for a closer shave, he wasn’t going to let his beard go cheaply! Friends, family and workmates were asked to pledge a donation to BWBF if they wanted to see what lay under Mick’s famous beard. To his amazement – and to our great pleasure – he raised a staggering total of £665 to help the work of the Fund. The sum is even more remarkable as Mick’s initial estimate of how much he would raise was £50. |

Mick sends his thanks to his union, the CWU at Brentwood, who donated the largest amount and to his work mates at BT Openreach, Chelmsford Essex, for the many donations he received from them. Away from work, Mick is an amateur radio enthusiast (call sign G8NYD) which is why he is pleased to be able to help bring the pleasure of radio to visually impaired listeners. We’d like to thank Mick for his generosity in sacrificing his beard for such a worthy cause! |
