BATTLE OF THE CLUBS

We have become aware of the intense - but friendly! - rivalry between
Cray Valley Radio Society
and the Bittern DX Group over the last few years of 'Transmission'. So, in honour of their successes here's a rundown of the results both clubs have achieved in recent competitions:

Competition Most Contacts Most Funds Raised
Transmission 2006 Cray Valley Radio Society Bittern DX Group
Transmission 2007 Bittern DX Group Bittern DX Group
Transmission 2008 Cray Valley Radio Society Bittern DX Group
Transmission 2009 TBC TBC
All rivalries aside we continue to appreciate the help of these fine Amateur Radio clubs and of all our friends on the amateur bands.
A radio from us is a radio for life
Transmission - the facts

As well as helping us in our work - and we're always grateful to our radio amateur friends for that - 'Transmission' is also about skill, expertise and fun!
So here we present some background to this annual event.
It's a little 'thank you' from us to just some of the people who help us every year.
Best 73!

WELL DONE PRIORY ACADEMY LSST!

Last year we introduced a new trophy for a young person or group of young people for special achievement. This award is aimed at the under 18’s (an individual or group) who have made an outstanding contribution to the Transmission event. This may be in fundraising; helping others; or making a high number of contacts.

We had a number of young people participate, but the new trophy was taken by The Priory Academy LSST Amateur Radio Club.

Priory Academy ARC - the winners.
“The Priory Academy LSST Amateur Radio Club has supported the BWBF for the past four years and has always been keen to donate money to provide the visually impaired with the technology to allow them to enjoy listening to the radio.
"For last year’s event we set up a portable station in the field behind the school and enjoyed our radio hobby in the open air.”
