Fundraising Canoe Trip
Tonbridge Canoe Club members canoe from Tonbridge to Wateringbury
Tonbridge canoe Club touring section members paddled their canoes from Tonbridge to Wateringbury on Saturday 4th August raising £122.
On a warm but cloudy afternoon with the threat of rain hanging over the trip, Jane, Jo, Fiona, Rosemary, Jeremy, Lenny , Pete, Richard, John, John and Helen paddled downstream through the rural scenery of the middle section of the River Medway. Stopping for lunch on their 15km journey they paddled, under bridges, down canoe passes, round locks, following the flow and bends of the river to Wateringbury Marina.
After gently persuading the swans to move to make room to disembark, canoes were loaded onto car roofs and everyone moved across the road to club members Ben and Frances’ house for supper.
